It's a NEW Year

So it is a new year. Mom is home and doing very well. The fundraiser that her coworkers did for her was good. But after it was over and they didn't do anything that would help over an above mom's scrapping buddies said we should do a scrap fundraiser for her... SO we did! I am a CM consultant so I organized it much like I would that only we added a "rummage sale" that was done by donation. We raised right around $1000 that day and have gotten some additional large donations. I think we are at about $1800 now and THEN we have a foundation that is going to MATCH it!!! How great is that???

Thanksgiving was good, it was just Paula & my family over at Mom's this year. Kathy decided to not come home since she had just been home for the 3 weeks before. (Can't blame her)

Christmas was interesting. Sometimes I have a really difficult time dealing with the out-laws. I just don't get some of the stuff they do. But I guess they don't understand how I can "dictate that they shouldn't buy clothes" for Kerstin for Christmas... Nevermind that I took 3 GARBAGE BAGS of clothes out of her drawers/closets Thanksgiving week, I found 4 pairs of jeans & 3 t-shirts from school shopping that STILL HAD THE TAGS ON THEM!!! Whatever...

For Christmas, Santa brought Kerstin & I a Cricut Expression. I have taken it out of the box but at this point my scrap/craft room is such a mess that there is no place to set it up...which is why I am posting this blog... I have been working on my room all weekend. It hasn't been fun. It has been horrible, it is so overwhelming! So I work and I take a break, and I work and I take a break. I am currently on a break and was browsing some blogs that I found links to from the Cricut message boards. THERE ARE SO MANY TALENTED PEOPLE OUT THERE!! Amazing! So all you people out there, pray, cross your fingers, whatever you are willing to do, maybe by the end of the month my room will be clean!
