You know your old when...

So we had graduation this weekend for my brother-in-law's step son. We drove to Carrington for graduation at 2 p.m. As the graduates did their march in and up to the stage and were seated, my darling husband looks over at me and says, "I have been in this gym for 3 graduations." Really, whos? "Brian, mine & this one" Well that's cool... Moments later he looks at me again and says, "And ya know, everyone up on that stage wasn't even born yet when I was up there!" LMAO!!! His 20 year reunion is this summer. Poor man!

a MONTH???

Wow! It has already been a month since I last wrote anything on here. I went on my scrap retreat and got 17 pages done! I know that isn't much compared to the 40+ that a couple others got done but I had to go to bed early on Friday so that my hubby could pick me up by 8:30 the next morning so I could go with him to his uncle's funeral. What do ya do?

I was doing pics of Kerstin when she was little, 1-4 years old. I don't scrap in order, makes for interesting times trying to get my books in order. My favorite page is one of when she was about 18 mo old. I had been giving her little slices of raw potato. She decided she needed a whole one, it is so cute! Her daddy is holding her as she sits on the kitchen counter trying to gnaw on this big ole potato! I will try to take a pic of it and post it later!

Anyway, we are still in the midst of flooding around this 1/2 of ND. Jamestown is supposed to let more water out of the dam there, not good for those downstream of the James River since there was another dam that broke already. It has just been CRAZY this year. We had to drive down to my friend Ellie who lives in McLeod and you could actually see the water running in the ditches! Looked more like rivers than ditches. There is water EVERYWHERE!

This pic is of a field the way down.

This of the water in Kindred as you go over the river.

The other crazy thing was all the geese & swans! They were just thick! The sky was black & white instead of blue! The left one is on the way down to McLeod, the right one on the way back, the group was coming in to land in the field. Looks like a scene out of that old "Birds" movie!
Anyway, I guess I better get back to editing my photos! See you all soon!

oh my...

So I was off of work today due to the...I don't want to know how many inches we have rec'd since yesterday about lunch time. This is not good for our flooding situation here. They are talking of a second crest in April reaching 40-41 feet again!!!
This is the tree in our front yard yesterday. The snow is just wet and heavy. Perfect snowball or snowman snow!
But I gotta say---This is getting out of hand! After this winter I am not so sure a hurricane would be a bad thing! At least that is only a week long!
Today would have been a good day to pack all my stuff for my scrapbooking weekend... If only I hadn't spent ALL DAY trying to organize all these discs that have Lord knows what on them... I am down to the last couple of discs...Thank you, LORD... But it is now suppertime and I have done NO packing yet... I am gonna end up being up all night tomorrow night trying to get everything put together!
I so wish I was a more organized person. I try, I struggle, I fail, I try again... It is a viscious cycle!

Just so you don't think I am kidding...this is my desk!

What a MESS!

I guess while I am at adding fun stuff I may as well add a video of Kerstin doing her Bella dance video! :) She is just so darn cute! And obviously feeling better after going to the doctor yesterday and finding out she has strep throat!

Isn't she too funny?

FLOOD!

It has been an interesting week, the Red decided to come out of its banks early and went to previously unrecorded heights. We have lost some homes, a couple of people have lost their lives in heart related issues in the fight. We have a few thousand people displaced and people have been shipped all over ND & MN.

I am thankful that our home has been safe through all of this. If you want pics, I don't have any! LOL I have been trying to be a good citizen and stay off the streets!

I do however have some pics of some NASTY icicles that were hanging off my roof until my daughter and hubby went out and knocked them all down.

Glad no small animals were under there when they came down.

Kids say the darndest things!

So last night, Kerstin has been put to bed, and we are up in the office working on our own stuff... The dog starts barking so Jim goes down to the living room to get him to stop...
Kerstin comes upstairs in a huff because the dog is barking and says to JIM:
Just because you can sit on the couch all day tomorrow, I have to get up and go to SCHOOL!

O boy was he not happy...especially considering he spent 2 days this week cleaning the craft room (see the previous post) and HE cleaned HER room for her LAST WEEK... And then paid her her allowance when her room was clean on Thursday!

Me...I about died laughing!

My ROOM!!!

I have the most awesome, greatest, wonderful husband in all the world. We should have taken photos before we started working on it last weekend but we didn't. So...Imagine the messiest room you have ever seen... multiply by 10... That image...that was my "craft room" BEFORE and now, while not perfect according to him...IT IS USABLE!!! seriously

Isn't it AWESOME!

So Kerstin and I went down tonight to use our Cricut for the very first time since we got it on Christmas from Santa. We made a card for her friend that turned 9 today... better late than never...

So here it is!

I know it is pretty simple but it still took us an hr & 1/2 to make it... Mind you it took some convincing on my part so that we didn't have the C, the shooting star AND the crown all on the front... Oh well someday she will sell cards like the one I saw on ebay yesterday...it sold for $34!!!
